Noise Analysis and Reporting Software

The NoiseTools software is included with the data logging versions of the Optimus sound level meters and doseBadge noise dosimeters. It's purpose is to configure the meter, download the measurements and produce concise noise reports.

There are no license restrictions with this software and it is provided free of charge. You can download it from the NoiseMeters Support web site.

This software supports multiple sound level meters and noise dosimeters, listing them by model and serial number. Some of the features of the NoiseTools software are meter specific. For example, the frequency content reports are only available for sound level meters fitted with octave or 1/3 octave band filters.

System Requirements

NoiseTools is compatible with Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10 (32 bit and 64 bit).

NoiseTools and the Optimus

The NoiseTools software works with the data logging versions of the Optimus sound level meter, providing the following features:

Optimus Meters Supported

The Optimus range of sound level meters includes everything from a basic non-integrating model to an advanced data logging, integrating meter with 1/3 octave band analysis. Only the data logging versions of the meter will benefit from the NoiseTools software. These specific noise meter models are:

CR110A doseBadge Industrial

The "Industrial" version of the doseBadge noise dosimeter stores a time history of the sound levels and a summary of the noise exposure. These can be downloaded using NoiseTools to produce occupational noise assessment reports.

CR120A doseBadge Pro

As well as the usual time history and noise exposure summaries, the NoiseTools software also gets the octave band frequency content and can program timers to control the measurements. These features are only available for the doseBadge Pro version of the dosimeter.

Reverberation Time Module

This is an add-on to the NoiseTools software that calculates the RT60, RT30 and RT20 reverberation time in line with ISO 3382-2:2008. It works with Optimus Sound Level Meters fitted with octave or 1/3 octave band filters.

Ordering the Reverb. Time Module

While the NoiseTools software is included with the meter, the Reverberation Time module is chargeable. You can find the pricing and place an order in the [More Options] section above. The order code is SWNT-RT.

Measurements

The measurements are downloaded from the Optimus Sound Level Meter to the NoiseTools software from where the reverberation time module makes the calculations. The calculations can be from a single measurement or from a group of measurements to reduce uncertainty. For multiple measurements it automatically calculates the average.

Octave and 1/3 Octave Band Ln

This is an add-on module for the NoiseTools software used in combination with an Optimus Sound Level Meter fitted with octave or 1/3 octave band filters. Once downloaded from the meter, it takes the octave or 1/3 octave time history data and makes the statistical calculation using either a single measurement or a group of measurements.
