This is highest specification sound level meter in the Pulsar series of real time analyzers. It has real-time octave and 1/3 octave band filters for a more detailed analysis of the noise spectrum. The octave band filters cover the range of 31.5 Hz to 16 kHz and the 1/3 octaves from 20 Hz to 10 kHz and the meter also has real-time room noise evaluation using NC curves.
This meter can be used as a standard Integrating Sound Level Meter or switched into RTA mode to carry out Octave or 1/3 Octave Band Analysis at the press of a single button. Another button push starts the measurement going. This meter has been designed to be very powerful, storing all the parameters at the same time, while still being very quick and easy to use.
As this meter has a single measurement span (no range selection needed), it is suitable for measuring noise levels that vary a great deal over time. A single span is also extremely beneficial for octave and 1/3 octave band measurements. With a limited span meter (one with manual range selection) you will often get some bands going over the top of the range with others are under-range. This is not the case with the P33 due to the very wide dynamic range.
The price of the P33 is kept low by the careful use of the latest technology. Microprocessors and Digital Signal Processors (DSP) are now so powerful that they can carry out all the functions required at a fraction of the cost of a few years ago. This fact is reflected in the price of the P33 when compared to other real-time sound level meters on the market.
The P33 is available on its own or as part of a complete measurement kit that includes an acoustic calibrator, windshield and a carrying case. The Type 2 version is indicated with a "-2" in the order code and a kit with a "-K" in the order code.
